The greatest single argument for Firefox, in my opinion, is the Adblock extension. I love it. It's amazing how much faster web pages show up when they don't have to connect to a couple of ad servers.

There are three or four things I should be doing right now, but I don't feel like doing any of them. Most of them involve cleaning things.

I've started to use Firefox the last few months, and downloaded Adblock recently. However, I don't think I'm doing it right because I keep blocking the images with the Adblock link in the toolbar. But I'm still getting popups (albeit blank ones). Any advice?

Ooops, it's me. I just cleared cookies and was a little slow on the uptake.

Under Preferences>Web Features, turn on Block Popup Windows.

If that's already on, I don't have any other brilliant ideas. When Adblock is on, I get Adblock tabs at the tops of ad windows. When I click on the tab, I get a dialog box, click OK and the ad goes away.

I've been doing that (with wildcards, so that future mutations are auto-blocked). I checked under the Options and already had the Block Popup Windows turned on. Alas.
