Timber!

This morning when I took out the trash, I noticed that somebody had put traffic cones up parallel to traffic, across the street. I was hoping it didn't mean anything like serious road deconstruction. Turns out that what it meant was serious tree deconstruction. The other side of the street is uphill from this side, and the house diagonally up the street was having a tree severely pruned. The branches were falling mostly on the lawn, but partly in the street. Enough so that when a large branch came down, the guy standing between the cones stopped traffic in both directions. They seem to be done now, having taken most of the branches off the tree.

If I didn't have Messiah rehearsal tonight, I'd go out for a very long ramble. I seem to want to tire myself out, but doing that before rehearsal is a bad idea, and doing it after rehearsal is an even worse idea because I don't get home until 10:00ish anyway.

I do know why I want to tire myself out; it's because I'm letting some family-related stuff bother me, and it shouldn't.
