See, I need some winter work clothes, particularly pants. And the best place to get them is probably one of the big department stores in Downtown Crossing, if not the Galleria. However, anybody in their right mind knows better than to go into a department store (or a mall, which is worse) in Xmas shopping season, particularly on a weekend.
It's a good thing this is a screaming necessity, because otherwise there's no way in hell I would even consider it.
[EDIT: It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought. Three pairs of pants and a pair of boots took me about three hours, including travel to and from. I think I've returned with my shield rather than on it.]
