Today I felt like I couldn't win, whatever I wore. The bottom several inches of dress pants would be (at least) wet by the time I got to work, and my long skirts are mostly useless in wind, or made of silk and not happy about rain. I wish I could've worn jeans and hiking boots. But, silly me, I wore dress pants and boots with heels, and ended up not quite killing myself on the ice in three different places and getting the bottom six or so inches of my pants soaked. Walking in the street was marginally better footing, but there's so much grime, salt, sand and slush making mud in the street that it wasn't much better on the clothes.

My boots have stretched enough to let me wear regular socks instead of trouser socks. This makes me happy, because I've only got one and a half pairs of trouser socks.

Apparently it's exciting that now there's enough staff to look like we justify a staff meeting. I like this sort of staff meeting; it's the sort where you eat first and write afterward, as opposed to eating with one hand and taking minutes with the other.

Next Friday is a half day, which is nifty. I have to look up the train schedule again and see if any more trains run on Fridays than do on Wednesdays. I'm aiming at being back in Boston again somewhere around the 27th.

Happy Friday, all.
