It happened to be a nice day, so I walked up to Coolidge Corner. I had intended to go to the bank, go to Trader Joe's and come home again, but it didn't work that way. I decided to enjoy myself a little, so it went bank, Brookline Booksmith's used book section, JP Licks, Trader Joe's.

At Brookline Booksmith I found a used copy of Harry and the Sea Serpent by Gahan Wilson. I love that book, and never owned it, although I got it out of the library a lot. So now I own it, and it cost all of $3. Happy camper.

I have no excuses for going to JP Licks. I really didn't need a milkshake, but I got one anyway.

Trader Joe's was a bit of a mob scene, but I managed to get in and out fairly expediently, and without a whole lot of "fell off the shelf and landed in the cart" stuff (although the freeze-dried strawberries got me; I'm curious). So after that I got on the bus to come home and put away the milk.

As usual there was a major exodus off the bus at Brigham Circle, and I had to get up to let the guy in the inside seat out. While I was getting out of his way and out of the way of everybody else getting off the bus, I looked up and in the exodus, there was a woman I went to high school with and hadn't seen in about five years.

Errandipity. If I hadn't gone to the bookstore and JP Licks, I wouldn't have been on that bus.

Now to see if my oven is going to continue to behave.

I had a similar occurrence in that vein today!

Widget and I went to her ski lesson today, which is out Route 2. I made plans to scoot back to my friend's J's Mom's house to fix her car mirrors, and after Widget's lesson, we decided to stop somewhere for burgers. I came straight down Route 2 in Camberville, and was racking my brain for somewhere Non-FastFoodChain Burger we could go. As we drove into Alewife, I remembered the "Ground-Round-Like" place my volleyball team used to go after games, and it was RIGHT THERE so we stopped. As we sat down, a man came in with two children, and it LOOKED like two kids that I'd just seen out at the ski lesson, so I said to him, "Hey, were you guys just at Nashoba Valley?" He said, "No, but I wish we sir, and I apologized for bothering him." 5 seconds later, his wife comes in and sits down. It was the admininstrator for my old job at EMC, who had left slightly earlier than I had, and WHO I HAD NOT EVER SEEN ANYWHERE not in a work environment. "HEY CHRISTINE!" Man was she surprised. :)

I ran into my freshman year roommate at work. :) He was a contractor. It was highly amusing.
