Feb. 14th, 2003 11:49 amThe commute to work today was a bit of an adventure. The short version is that after the train I was on finally declared a mechanical problem and kicked us all off, I waited through two more trains and finally got on the third, because that was the one I would fit on. I hate playing sardines on the train. I was only half an hour late, though, and managed to warm up again due to large amounts of cocoa.
This being a long weekend, I have a List, of course. In no particular order, I want to accomplish the following:
Wash my comforter (involves going to a laundromat)
Rearrange my closet
Catch up with the three loads of laundry I need to do
Do my taxes
Record my statement of purpose in French for the grad school application
I think I can get all that done in three days. The hardest thing is going to be the statement of purpose, because I can't write it out and read it off. I can outline it, but I can't write it all. Scary stuff.
I never did make it out to lunch yesterday. I have errands I can't put off any more, or I wouldn't go out today either. It amazes me how the sun can be out, and there can be no clouds in sight, and it can still be 4 degrees. The angle of the planet relative to the sun really does matter. (duh.)
Happy Friday, everyone.
