I want it to feel like a weekend

dchenesWork today was rather worklike. Two final committee meetings back to back (the second of which started at 5:00), another case of "final meeting today, SOP meeting tomorrow" for next week or so (at least I had a little warning this time), the third try at rescheduling a meeting I had set up nicely (in early February) to happen next week and then somebody scheduled a vacation over it, and various scanning and copying and updating and phone-answering (although less of that than usual, because it was one of my non-phone-babysitting Fridays).
My boss came out of her office at 6:00, just as I was starting to put things in piles I could find them in on Monday, and said "Go home!" Except I didn't, because I went to the dry cleaner and Trader Joe's first.
All nine of the March promotions got approved, so I get to start assembling and sending four different packets per person on Monday, to be sent to four different offices. I think I know why the February promotions aren't approved yet, and I'm interested to see what happens to the one I suspect is holding up the works.
Tomorrow I'm going to wait around for the FedEx individual (I don't know if it's the FedEx man, or not), and write. And do the dishes, eventually. Some day I will have a dishwasher, but not in this apartment. I don't know where I'd put it.
