I feel a largish clothes-shopping expedition coming on, and I wish it wouldn't. Unfortunately, my favorite pair of jeans is on its way out, and I need new sneakers (as opposed to hiking boots), and I should replace the dress boots that died last week. I don't know whether or not to be amused by the fact that I would be able to afford all that stuff if I wasn't going to send the earned income credit refund from my taxes to pay down the credit card, which I'll be using to buy all that stuff anyway. The EIC refund showed up last night, at the same time as a letter that said "we adjusted your return two weeks ago, or maybe two weeks from now, but in any case, we adjusted it. Did you notice?" Silly people.

I suppose I should be doing something useful. I don't really have all that much useful stuff to do at the moment, though.

Tonight I have to track the UPS trucks to their roost again and go pick up my Tevas. If you're going to ship me something, ship it by priority US mail. At least getting to the post office doesn't involve two trains and a bus.

Zappos, Sierra Trading Post, and Coldwater Creek all have nice pairs of dress boots. I got a pair of the Coldwater Creek boots for this year. They DO come in wide widths and have tons of toe space.

I'm wary of buying shoes if I can't try them on first. Almost anything else, OK, but not shoes (except Tevas). I think I'll probably end up at DSW again.

With Zappos, at least the shipping back and forth if the sizing is wrong is totally free. But yeah, I can see your point. Want company when you finally get to go shopping?

Sure. Next weekend, maybe?
