random synapses firing in all directions

Today seems to be the day of getting things almost done. Pretty much everything I've had my hands on today is waiting on somebody (or somebodies) else to provide information, or signatures, or corrected drafts, so I can finish things. About the only thing I've completed is the process of getting the week of August 21 off for vacation, and the hardest part of that was deciding which week in August I wanted.

I'm cautiously optimistic that the meeting with the 24 rejected dates since March might actually happen on September 25. July wasn't going to work and I didn't want to try August. After all, this committee was only formed in 2004; what's another three months going to hurt? (Yes, that's sarcasm.)

Il pleut, but I brought an umbrella, being the sneaky person I am.

Given the whole outdoors to hunt, mate and die in, why do things with more than six legs insist on getting into my bathtub, which contains nothing edible and is slippery and therefore almost impossible to climb out of? There was a very large spider in there this morning. I got water all over the floor getting out of the shower in a hurry, because I didn't notice immediately.

Eyew spider in the tub. I hate that. I'm usre you hate it more than me though. For once, i didn't think to bring an umbrella. Grr. Gonna have to borrow a spare 'brella from work again.

I was just getting over the habit of looking in the tub every time I go into the bathroom, too (I got into the habit after I found the grillionpede in the tub a month or so ago).
