I do not like my local laundromat. Granted, last night wasn't the best night to be in the presence of running industrial dryers, but that has nothing to do with the off-green and off-orange the inside of the laundromat itself is painted, nor the fact that it smelled like an unwashed garbage truck (it's in the basement of a building on Tremont St and I think there's a dumpster somewhere behind the building).

Be that as it may, though, at least now I have clean laundry, which makes me feel better. And the weather is behaving itself again. It started raining last night just as I was falling asleep, and when I woke up this morning I didn't feel quite so drained.

Monday went fairly fast, but I woke up yesterday convinced it was Wednesday, and I haven't managed to get my brain back into remembering what day it is. According to me, today should be at least Thursday.

Apparently I got a 4% raise as of July 1. Hooray! Between that and the overtime from last week, I'll hsve enough money to put a fairly sizable dent in the credit card bill this month. I have this grand (and extremely improbable) dream involving getting my rent to go down, applying the rent decrease to the student loans, and getting the undergrad loan paid off "early". (It's still going to be later than usual because it was deferred for two years.)

Sic transit Wednesday. (What's the Latin equivalent for "Wednesday"?)

Heh. Well, at least the laundry is clean. I seemed to think it was Thursday for part of today but Wednesday for the rest. Or at least, I thought I was going to have my thursday database meeting told instead of tomorrow. Urg.

And hey, thank your union rep for the 4% raise. Skreeky and I got raises too. Isn't unionized academia lovely? (Now if I can just figure out how you talk to your boss about a raise when you have your performance review....I've never had to do that before. I don't know how!)
