a fairly soggy Tuesday

dchenesI should have put my good pants in a bag with a towel, worn shorts to walk to work, and dried off and changed when I got here. As it is, I'm not quite as wet as I can get, but I'm close to it.
On the other hand, I have yet to be stuck waiting for a bus home from my trombone lesson in the rain (there's no shelter at all at the nearest outbound bus stop), so I can't complain too much.
I think I'm going to have to sit down and develop a list of things to discuss regarding searches. The one we've got going now is a mess. For one thing, since the candidate is from another country, his CV is in nothing like the format we need it in. For another thing, my coworker L was working on the meeting materials packet, which for a search is the same thing as the SOP packet. Somehow or other it got handed to me to fix, which I did, but since L was still working on it too, we had the whole "two people with same document open at same time" problem, and that's aggravating. I don't know why I was given the thing to fix in the first place; I would rather have L fix it so she knows how it's supposed to be, or I would rather have had it to begin with.
Never mind. That's on the list of things I am NOT going to think about next week, along with budgets, rent, the umpteen committees I'm working on, and anything whatsoever to do with politics.
The water drops splashing on the fire-escape railing are sending up impressive plumes of water. It would make a nifty picture if I had a camera here and good enough timing to get the picture I want.
