vacation, so far

I'm back.

Highlights:

- Really good bodysurfing waves on Sunday and Monday.
- I forgot how quiet it is down there. Wow, that was nice.
- I managed to not do most of the things on my "things I'm not going to do" list.
- The dog I don't like wasn't there.
- The hammock was there.
- Terry Pratchett is SILLY! (I bought The Color of Magic on Friday night, have read it four times since then, and lent it to my aunt.)

In other news, I managed (despite being slathered in sunscreen) to burn my back fairly badly, again. Nowhere else, just my back. Neither my aunt nor I have any clue how I managed that.

I also, somehow, managed to lose my T pass sometime between 3 PM Friday afternoon and 8 PM Friday night. I hope it was under my desk at work and will be waiting for me when I get back on Monday. If it isn't, at least I'll only be without one for a week or so. I'll cope.

I should've brought more books. I forgot how fast I can go through books when I'm on vacation (the current count, not counting re-reading of the three books I brought, is five).

One of the things on the list of things I wanted to do this week was "buy steak and grill it". I didn't grill it, but I did broil it, and even if I did overbroil it a bit (it came out medium and I like it medium rare at most), it was good.

All the bills came while I was gone. Sigh.

I should go get the wet towels out of my bag before I forget. Tomorrow I have to go buy food, since what's in the fridge right now can best be described as "not much".

I have almost all of the Discworld novels.

The most amazing part is when you don't see a pun coming... and then when it arrives, you realize how much has been hinted along the way, and you just *GROAN*.
