Thirdsday (it is, this week)

Today was a fairly intense day. I had a committee meeting at 9:00 this morning, which had to be in a different building due to the lack of anywhere else to put it. So I was at work at 8:30 this morning setting up coffee and tromping meeting materials and coffee and cookies and conference phone around. The meeting ended at 9:45 and I cleaned up after it and went to the database design meeting at 10:00.
After the database design meeting, I started in with the SOP packets. The SOP meeting is next Tuesday, which means the materials should have gone out this Tuesday. Except it was a long weekend, so they went to the copier on Tuesday. So they would have gone out today, except that the copiers missed page 11 of the third packet, so we had to get them redone. On top of that, we went through four versions of a three-item agenda. I had to walk one set of packets over to somebody who (surprise surprise) will be out of the country until next Monday, and the other 32 are sitting in a box in my cube to go out tomorrow.
While I was waiting for the corrected packets to come back, I got the packet for a meeting on Monday back. That merely involved making 11 copies, sending two of them out by FedEx, sending four out by courier, giving two to OFA people, and keeping three extras. These packets get run through the copier in three sections, and I was in the middle of putting all that stuff together when the prize patrol showed up.
The prize patrol proceeded to inform me that I had been nominated for a $100 peer recognition award (10 to be awarded by lottery in three weeks or so). Nice to have that happen on a day like today.
Tired and sore in the back (and the feet), but mostly happy.
