Definite heat and potential soup
Oct. 27th, 2006 11:34 amHouston, we have heat! I had put the huge mahonkin' comforter on the bed last night, expecting not to have heat until November, but lo and behold, the floor vents woke me up going WHOOSH in the middle of the night. Hooray! Now I can sit around in my apartment in a single layer of clothes if I want to. I guess that means I have to remember to weatherstrip the windows shut for the winter.
I also (although I hesitate to jinx it by saying so) seem to have adequately deterred the mouse. I'm reasonably sure there was only one of him. Anyway, I haven't seen any signs of him for a week now, so I'm declaring all the holes in the kitchen plugged up, and going back to cooking. I think the weather calls for soup; the question is, what kind?
