ahhhhh....

My back is better. There were two major Aha moments in the half-hour massage session I had today; the first was when my spine came back into the alignment it likes, and the second was when the surrounding tissue finally loosened up enough for The Knot to get worked on.
I don't even come close to knowing how Oriental medicine works, or how the energy flow in the human body works. All I know is that when my spine lined up, I could feel all sorts of energy breaking loose. It was like pulling on one end of a slipknot and having the whole thing untie itself, and it was lovely. I'm still sore, but it's not the same kind; it's the "somebody beat the snot out of your back" sort of sore rather than the "your back is tying itself into a pretzel" sort of sore. This, I can deal with.
The cough is getting better too, although I still woke myself up twice last night, codeine notwithstanding (and boy, is that weird if you aren't used to it...). I think it's just too damn dry in my bedroom.
