The variety of my answer is because it would depend on a few things: How much money I had to spend, whether I was craving peace and quiet or interest and stimulation at the moment I was planning the trip, How dependant I was on public transportation.

I actually considered both, but I still don't know quite what I want. I'm sort of hoping somebody will come up with something I would never have thought of.

As I was commenting, I was struck by the thought that you can sometimes find reasonable cheap fares to places like Bermuda from here. It's not that long of a flight, and would be a total change of scenery =)

My answers are all based on wanting some company but also being comfortable leaving my hosts and going off to spend time on my own. If I wanted to be alone, I know a nice B&B in NH that I would go to and just chill for the entire weekend doing nothing.

It depends on budget, timing, and whether or not you want to chill, party, or explore. Thus my answer: as long as it has a spa I can nearby, ANY retreat will do!

Mmmm....I miss the Himalayas...
