"and beings animalculus"
Apr. 18th, 2003 10:31 amI went with Liz last night to pick up the fuzz face from the vet. It's interesting to sit in the waiting room and look at other people's pets. When we arrived, there were an Italian greyhound, a dachshund, and a cat in the waiting room. Over the course of the evening, a black Lab with cancer, and a dog that I think was a pit bull crossed with a black Lab (which had had its ears docked; I wonder if it wasn't bred as a fighting dog), and another cat came out. Just as we were leaving, two people came in with a three-and-a-half-foot cooler, and my first thought was "Autopsy?", but apparently there was an iguana in it.
The fuzz face was EXTREMELY loopy. If she had had one of those cartoon thought balloons over her head, it would have said "...". On the other hand, she put up with having her face washed, which she needed.
I got home and discovered that the cats have been given the three rolls of toilet paper they were most of the way to destroying anyway. It looked like there was a paper snowstorm in the hallway. Bonnie likes to push things around with her head, and I caught her sticking her nose in the middle of the roll of toilet paper and going zipping off up the hall pushing the roll in front of her. I just about died laughing. On top of which, Galileo has rediscovered his favorite toy ever, which is one of those aluminum springs you put under a picture frame to keep the picture from falling out. Give him that and he'll amuse himself, and anyone else who happens to be around, for hours.
So, hilarity ensued, and I didn't do any packing at all last night (shame on me), although I do have a list of things not to forget. I'm leaving work early if I can possibly manage to, so I can go home and kill the list, and maybe even clean up the paper snowstorm and do the dishes before I leave for the weekend.
I bought some brand new summer shirts this week, thereby guaranteeing it will be cold until Memorial Day. I don't necessarily want it to be 80 again, but 68ish would be nice.
Happy Easter if that matters to you, Happy Passover if that applies to Passover, and otherwise, Happy first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox. In any case, Happy Friday
