dchenesRoom-temperature weather has arrived! Last night I went to bed without having to take a bath to warm up first.
I spent most of yesterday afternoon at NEFFA, and discovered that its character has changed some since the last time I was there. It seems there's a lot more dancing than there was last time. Even though I have rhythm, I don't have much by way of coordination, so I always end up turning the wrong way or stepping on people, or both. I spared the world that this year, but I did do some singing, and watched a lot of Morris dancing. And, because it was nice out and I was feeling like treating myself, I spent more money than I should have on jewelry (one pair of earrings and one Maori pendant) and one CD I didn't know existed, but whose existence means I can quit worrying about my "music for when I'm unsettled" tape wearing out.
The fact that there were actual campus grounds at Mansfield High (and Middle) School meant there were a lot more spontaneous instrumental groups, which was fun. (Somewhat cacophonous when I was sitting in earshot of more than one group, though.) If there was a tree, there was a group under it. Singers seem not to do that, unfortunately. If I had been there with anybody who knows some of the same songs I know, I might have tried to start a spontaneous singing group.
So, now that it's 11:10 and I've wasted a good bit of the morning being lazy, I should go out and do something. Even if the definition of "something" is "go sit outside somewhere and read".
Pictures of the new jewelry possibly forthcoming, if I can sort out why my camera seems not to want to focus properly. (I wonder, though, if it's that the camera has had this problem for a while and it's my new contact lenses that have revealed it.)
