Today is better. I still need a new job, but I don't want to throw myself off the roof any more.

This morning I found a mouse in the bathroom that looked like it had perished in combat. Thank goodness today is trash day, and I guess I was right when I said "god help the mice if we ever get any". I've never seen any signs of mice, though. Maybe this one was just passing through and happened to be in the wrong place.

Yesterday I got home, having stopped on the way to get kitty litter, and discovered I had voice mail from the one person who could turn my day around completely. I called him back, of course, and from there on I felt a lot better. Liz and I went for a walk and dinner, and I wore shorts for the first time this year. Maybe we'll have spring after all.

I'm sort of considering traveling over Memorial Day weekend, but we'll see how it shakes out.
