Lily has abandoned the closet for the curio cabinet shelves. That's fine with me, but I've got to figure out how to disapprove of her being on the kitchen table without her deciding I'm terrifying. I suppose I could hiss at her and see what happens.

It's Friday, and it wouldn't be the Friday of a short work week without a disaster. The reviewer for the meeting next Thursday has acquired a previous commitment out of town. This is one of our pricklier reviewers, too. Sigh.

The rest of life is actually quite satisfactory. I'm done with getting out of work and wondering where I can go for a couple of hours because I don't want to go home. There's a deep philosophical thought in there somewhere, but it doesn't want to come out in language, so I'll leave it alone for now.

I've used a spray bottle with water in it to use on Tux. She occasionally wants to scratch rugs and wood that she shouldn't. So even my scaredy cat isn't more scared of me when I use it.

Water pistol instead of spray bottle...

The spray bottle makes a "hiss" sound that will cause your cat to get skittish any time you use hair spray, cooking oil, etc.

Instead, buy a dollar-store water pistol. It doesn't make the hiss, but gets the point across. It's a little more accurate from distance, too. ;D
