For some reason, the phrase "shucking fleas off a rhinoceros" works much better aloud than it does in print. That's what I feel like I've spent the morning doing; although a bucket of fleas isn't the most pleasant result, at least it's a visible result. I've spent the morning writing post-SOP letters, which I can't print yet and which are mind-numbingly dull besides, but at least they're written.

Good stuff:

- Lily has decided she likes being petted and scritched behind the ears and mussed up and rubbed the wrong way (I don't do the last two on purpose, but she won't stand still).

- I slept last night without pharmaceutical or any other sort of help (including feline).

- Southampton Secret Ale is good stuff.

- Ping-pong balls still make perfectly fine cat toys.

- I only have one meeting to worry about today.

- It's Thursday, and it's lunchtime.

The only toys Tuxedo likes are pom poms. Which can be gotten by the giant bag at craft stores, in fun "animal print" colors.

I haven't tried pompoms yet, mostly because I haven't been in the vicinity of a craft store lately. I keep having to fish ping-pong balls out from under my nightstand or the bookshelf in the bedroom or the stove. I don't know what she does with the actual cat toys I bought; there were 4 and I can only ever find one at any given time (and it's not always the same one).
