Yesterday was a really truly lazy Sunday. I never even got around to showering, never mind getting dressed properly. This is very rare for me. Usually I get myself put together and dressed and THEN decide I'm not going to do anything unless I have to (and then I end up doing useful things anyway). It seems I needed a day of doing absolutely nothing, because I fell asleep in the middle of the afternoon, and woke up again with a way around my writer's block.

I now have conclusive proof that Lily and the vacuum cleaner don't mix. I vacuumed the rug in the bedroom on Saturday and she headed straight for the back of the closet and wouldn't come out for an hour after I was finished vacuuming. This does not bode well for my vacuuming the rug in the living room, which desperately needs it. Actually, it needs vacuuming and steam cleaning, but I'd have to rent a steam cleaner for that, and I don't know when I'm going to get around to it.

On Saturday I had people over for dinner, and I managed beef stew and corn muffins without burning the place down or poisoning anybody. (Not that I was trying to poison anybody, but every so often I wonder if I can still produce food that other people think is edible. Apparently I can.)

I've got bits of three different songs stuck in my head, and none of them have anything to do with the others. Silly brain.

Sounds like you had a nice weekend. Also sounds like you needed it. Makes me glad that I didn't stop by unannounced on Saturday after the haircut to see if you wanted to come hang out.

On the other hand, it'd be fun to hang out since we haven't done that in a little while. What do you think? Just the two of us, movies, Civ. I'll even medicate so I can maybe come over and not scare Lily by sneezing at her.

"They built another explorer!" (Actually, I can't remember if Civ 4 has explorers or not. One of the versions after 2 doesn't let you build explorers until it's too late for them to do any good anyway.)

I think perhaps this coming Saturday would be good for that; I have to get stuff done on Sunday. Does that work for you?
