frippery

This past weekend, I finally found a jewelry box I liked. For the past I-forget-how-many years now, my earrings and necklaces and a couple of bracelets and a couple of hair clips have all lived in a drawer in my tool chest (which contains practically everything except tools). The drawer under the jewelry drawer is where I keep my incense, so I put a couple of sticks of incense in the bottom of the new jewelry box. I wonder whether proximity to unburned incense tarnishes silver? (More than it is already, I mean. I ought to have a minor cleaning and jewelry polishing fit one of these days.) I don't own any jewelry that's worth anything and should therefore be kept in a jewelry box, but at least now I can find fripperies when I want them.

My hair has been too short for hair clips for at least a year, but I can't bring myself to get rid of them yet.

I find it ironic that I gave most of my good hair clips to my mom because her hair is longer than mine these days. I did buy myself one package of 3 sets of decorated fancy clips for special occasions that work with my current hair length.

Frip frip.

And my new purse is working out pretty well. I certainly can't lose anything in the bottom of this one because of the lining color!

The first thing that tromped through my head (apologies for incipient earworm):

"...blessings and curses and ever-filled purses..."
