I went to the Super 88 this afternoon to look for a teapot to give as a present. They didn't have any that appealed, so I did some grocery shopping. $38 later I have enough food for two weeks of lunches and at least a week of soup of one kind or another for dinner. The problem is, I don't know if I want chicken and coconut soup, or if I want the kind of soup that starts with chicken broth and ends with most of the rest of the Asian side of the pantry in it. In any case, I have both chicken broth-in-a-box and a perfectly good chicken carcass I want to make stock from, so I have to decide which one I want what for in the first place. (And let's not mention the lemon risotto I've wanted to make for the last month or so, shall we? I've got all the ingredients and haven't done anything with them.) Anybody want to come over for dinner sometime in the next week so I can cook a lot of stuff and not have to eat it myself?

One of these days I'll actually learn that there's no such beast as mildly hot kim chee. It's either HOT or it doesn't exist (or maybe it's called something else?). The problem is that I like the flavor, so I buy kim chee and then remember that the reason I didn't have any before is because I don't use a lot of it because it's HOT.

Speaking of carried away (or possibly not), in addition to potato chips, thou shalt not feed the cat roasted almonds. I don't know where she got one from, but she most certainly got one from somewhere, because she threw it up on the rug. (Fortunately not the new rug; that one shows up on Monday morning.) Anyway, further feline digestive unpleasantness ensued, but considering how insistent she was about her dinner last night and how fast she inhaled her breakfast this morning, she's fine now. She has also, in the last month, discovered the joys of being a lap cat, and today discovered the joys of being an orange lap cat when her human is wearing a black shirt. I had to break out the lint brush. (Horrors.)

I wish somebody would hurry up and invent the *pop*-you're-elsewhere cloak, so I wouldn't keep thinking about going to places like Porter Square and then thinking how long it will take me to get there and therefore putting it off.

Dark Crystal is the one that I have on VHS. I've never owned Jungle Book, much as I love it, because its been a while since they released it for purchase. (stupid "Disney Vault" hype.)

I'm thinking of going clothes shopping at Old Navy tomorrow because someone tipped me off that all of their maternity clothes are 40% off right now and I'm starting to look stupid wearing a lot of the clothes I have,

You're a better man than I am, Gunga Din. I'm not going anywhere near a largish mall until after Jan 1. As close as I'm going to get is the Porter Exchange tomorrow.

Hate having to go shopping but the 40% savings make it a whole lot easier to choke down the idea of buying clothing that I'll only be able to wear for a short time. I've been putting it off so far but I can't keep doing so or I'm going to start looking really stupid when dressed for work. Sigh. Don't wanna but I do hafta.
