In the "what's good is good together" category: I win. Dried tomatoes and a whole lot of fresh basil and ricotta salata makes one hell of a good risotto.
In the "major relief" category: This morning I finally shipped off the eight or so months of backed-up Governing Boards packets to the Governing Boards and filed the rest of the associated paperwork, thereby clearing off a lot of horizontal space in my office. (The Governing Boards representative is going to have fits at me, but for once the delay isn't my fault.)
In the "hooray" category: I urge anyone who has kids, is having kids, or considers themself to still be a kid occasionally to invest in a copy of How Tom Beat Captain Najork and his Hired Sportsmen. I was unaware until last week that it was back in print again. This is the book I translated and then wrote the ATISA paper on.
In the "marking time" category: Five more weeks until I get to not come to work for a week. (If I say "until I go on vacation" it sounds like I'm actually going somewhere, but I'm not.)
