Yesterday I was talking to my father on the phone and we ended up speculating about the market for, and appeal of, mouse-flavored cat treats. I got to laughing so hard I almost had to sit down on the sidewalk, because I had a sudden image of the ingredients list for mouse-flavored cat treats: Wheat, natural and artificial mouse flavors, etc.... The idea that somebody would actually go to the trouble of developing an artificial mouse flavor struck me as hilarious. (I bet it wouldn't taste anything like the genuine article, either.)

"Mouse-flavored" makes more sense to me than the old Crave [tm] cat food ads... "The taste cats naturally crave!"

One of the flavors was beef.

Sure. Because housecats naturally kill entire cows on their own, then eat them.
