is that a glass egg in your pocket, or...
Mar. 13th, 2008 06:46 pmWell, actually there is a glass egg in my pocket. Yesterday I pulled whatever number of SOP packets you get when you multiply six and a half by 45 together, added them to the two and a half packets I already had 45 copies of, collated all 45 sets and put most of them in envelopes. That took me until 4:30, at which point I declared lunch.
So after work I decided I could give myself a bit of a reward for that whole mess, and went to Brookline Booksmith. I wanted a copy of "The Janissary Tree", which I found, and at the register there was a container of glass eggs for $1.50 apiece, so I bought a glass egg. My particular specimen is opaque white with red spots and swirls. I stuck it in my coat pocket and promptly forgot it was there.
This morning I went tromping around five or so hospitals delivering SOP packets, and put my hand in my pocket at one point and discovered the glass egg. And of course what I thought of instantly was, "Is that a glass egg in your pocket, or...".
Today I also sent out packets for a search review and most of the packets for a final committee meeting. That last one really is impressive because I got the draft packet back at 4:00. I also produced a draft packet for a meeting in three weeks. I am, however, officially out of miracles for the week. I don't have any more energy to pull them off.
Too bad it isn't Friday until tomorrow.
