the quest has ended

On Monday I take delivery of my new cat from the MSPCA. She's being spayed tomorrow.
She's about a year old, but nobody knows for sure because she was abandoned by her previous owners. She's a mostly-black tortoiseshell, with a predilection for washing people (she washed both of my hands and my watch) and an allergy to plastic food dishes (which means she's been back and forth between a foster home and the shelter two or three times). The MSPCA was calling her Fajita, but that doesn't suit her at all. Neither does being at the shelter on a busy weekend day, I think. She should be fine when I get her here where it's quiet and she only has me and Lily to deal with (and Lily only through a gate for the first week).
The adoption process was almost ridiculously easy; I filled out the application, which was one of the least intrusive ones I've seen, and sat down for an interview and the woman who was interviewing me looked at the application and looked at me and signed off on it without even asking me anything. Vindicated! I am not, in fact, a serial axe murderer!
