dreams and other disasters
Jun. 12th, 2003 11:09 amAfter the train wreck of an afternoon I had yesterday, what would be more fitting than to dream of car wrecks all night?
OK, maybe not all night, but dreams are funny like that. A fifteen-minute dream can seem to take hours. I had a very complicated dream last night involving my driving a pickup truck owned by a convicted murderer (no idea where in my brain he came from). I remember driving the truck around up and down several sets of stairs inside buildings, and getting on the highway somewhere and getting completely lost and being unable to get out of an airport. The only thing I remember about the actual truck was that it was red, and that it must have been an automatic, because in the dream I thought "It's a good thing I don't have to worry about shifting gears; getting unlost is bad enough." Nothing really bad happened, but all through the dream I had a sense of "No, this is wrong, there's something severely screwed up here." Part of it was the fact that even when I'm asleep, I know I shouldn't be driving.
Today, shock of shocks, I feel like the truck hit me. Is it not time for this week to be over with yet?
