It seems that Lily's favorite human food in the entire universe to date is oatmeal cookies. She likes them so much that I have to eat them standing up; otherwise I have to chuck her out of my lap every five seconds. Thank goodness Snip doesn't like human food. It makes the restricted-diet dance a little less complicated. Now if I could only persuade Snip that she doesn't need to eat half of Lily's food in addition to her own...

Today would be a lovely day for hibernating, particularly because my feet still hurt. On the other hand, taking a Tuesday off means you still have to go to work for the next three days. Except next month, when Veterans' Day is a Tuesday and I have jury duty on Wednesday.

I'm debating what to do about Halloween. My neighborhood has historically been really popular with trick-or-treaters, but I'm of mixed opinions about how much of a pain it's going to be to deal with the cats and the doorbell for three hours or so. They hate the sound of the doorbell, because it's a buzzer instead of a bell. I don't like it either, but at least I don't try to hide under the rug every time it goes off (which would be very funny if it wasn't so pathetic). But most of the kids are really cute, and I approve of proper after-dinner trick-or-treating. It's just not the same if you do it in the middle of the afternoon.

Speaking of which, when do the clocks change again?

You could go sit on the front porch with a book to read and candy waiting for the kids if the weather is decent... Me? I won't be home to see the ghosts & goblins in our area because I'll be seeing my cousin's show at the wang...

Lemme check with HC when we're home tonight. Prolly Sunday since we're out late on Friday night so I might want to sleep in and be a lazy bum.

Daylight Saving Time ends this coming Sunday. Set your clocks back an hour on Saturday night. (They changed the date-of-change to be a week later precisely so that it wouldn't be so "surprisingly dark" on Hallowe'en.)
