civic (ugh) duty

I'm home from jury duty. I was going to go to work since I got out at 2:30, but I called and they told me not to bother.

All in all, that's just as well, because the case they put me in the pool for after lunch squicked me so much I had to buy some ginger ale to settle my stomach. I think I would almost rather have been at the dentist all day.


Anybody who can be impartial while dealing with the case of somebody who raped three children under the age of 6 is a better person than I am.


Thank goodness, tomorrow I can stop thinking about this and go back to thinking about the SOP meeting packets.

And you mentioned there was a mental hospital involved?

There was; this person had been convicted of the rapes in 1991. This was a hearing to determine whether the classification of "sexually dangerous" still applied.
