things I did, didn't do, and should do

It was a really nice weekend, weather-wise and otherwise. I went to NEFFA on Saturday, having dragged cuilean up here for it, and learned a new version of the Taco Bell Canon. I also got the sheet music for one round I learned last year and was convinced I remembered wrong (I had the words wrong, but the tune right) and filled in the gaps in a song I'd learned most of last year, both of which are highly satisfying. And I got half of a sunburn, because I always get sunburned the first time it gets hot out.

It was also a pretty socially successful weekend, once I got over a mild case of social anxiety brought on by turning myself into a hermit for the last year and a half or so. I really ought to stop that.

The Hairy Beasts are a bit confused by the weather suddenly being hot. Lily keeps looking at me in a "why did you do that, and could you make it stop?" sort of way. Snip's only concession to the weather is to sleep on her side, instead of on her chest with all her feet tucked in. Even though she's mostly black, she has probably half the hairs per square inch of pelt that Lily has.

I really hope that the Chinese food I had for dinner last night didn't give me the headache I went to bed at 10:00 with and woke up at 3:00 with. Fortunately it was gone by the time the alarm went off. (If it was the Chinese food, I suppose that's what I get for giving in to my desire for pan-fried noodles. They're horribly bad for me and I hadn't had them since before the Chinatown Eatery closed.)

I should figure out what's for lunch this week.
