Saturday was just lovely; I stopped in Harvard Square on the way to Watertown, having completely missed the fact that the Cambridge RiverFest was on Saturday. My attention was brought to this fact by, of all things, a fairly spontaneous marching band. I never got to Watertown, but I did get to listen to an Irish band and buy some fudge and enjoy the sunshine. And then I came home and made pickled lotus root, which is quite tasty although that wasn't exactly what I was trying to do. (I didn't mean to slice it that thin, but since I did, it sort of pickled itself in the vinegar.)

Yesterday I did a lot of not much, except play with the Hairy Beasts (who were apparently feeling neglected) and get within about 20 stitches of being done with page 1 of my 12-page embroidery pattern. (About bloody time.) It's solid embroidery, on 25-count fabric over one thread, so it's TEENSY. But from across the room, it looks like the painting it's supposed to be a copy of, and that's highly nifty. Never again with the 25-count-over-1, though.

Is it Wednesday yet? That's when the sun is supposed to come out again.
