The weekend in a nutshell:

Saturday: errands
Sunday: embroidery and Muppet Show DVDs
Monday: snow shoveling, Muppet Show DVDs and mushroom risotto

Had I had today off (no chance; today is the January SOP meeting), I would've spent it cooking other things, like Experimental Lemon Napalm v2. Which the Hairy Beasts are going to hate, because they do not like the noise the blender makes. This time I zested and then peeled the lemons, because I wanted the zest but not the pith. I hope this version works so I know what to do next time, although for some reason peeling lemons strikes me as singularly silly.

I have a headache for no good reason at all. It's not a caffeine, stress, sinus or migraine headache; it's just There.



I voted this morning, now will everybody please leave me the hell alone about it?

I'm trying to come up with lemon goop that's more lemon than sweet, in order to make lemon bars with it. There's a lot of sugar in it, so it's very sticky when it's hot, so it's Lemon Napalm. And I haven't got it right yet, so it's Experimental Lemon Napalm.
