Not such an Easter Island day today, fortunately. Yesterday I bailed on work at 2:30, got home at 3:30, and finally started feeling mostly better at 4:30. That was not fun at all. I am fixing this situation with a two-hour meeting the week after next, after which if the coworker who gave me the stomachache still can't retain any information I give her, I will point her at the place I wrote it down. As opposed to answering the same question, at the same point in the process, for the fourth month in a row.

I'm not necessarily going to put all my disposable income into various travel funds, but every so often I think "Well, I've been to India, and [insert country here] isn't as far away as that." Except that a lot of the [insert country here]s are more expensive to be a tourist in than India is, even if they aren't as expensive to get to. So I'm not going anywhere else exotic...yet. I'm considering using some of my summer vacation to go somewhere I haven't been on this continent (but not Mexico).

In which case, how's about Nova Scotia?

That's possible. I was also thinking Seattle, or Vancouver. (I have been to Seattle, but that was 1984.)

In my view, the trip to the left coast would be better saved for a different time of year when there are likely to be fewer tourists. A cat-ferry trip to Nova Scotia though sounds like the perfect late summer get-away
