dchenesIt was perhaps not the best idea ever to wear a skirt on a day when I have to go tromping around four hospitals, but I had no choice since my black pants are completely covered in orange cat hair. I love Lily, but sometimes I wish I could get her shaved. In this weather, she probably wishes so too, but she really wouldn't like the process at all. I tried to go buy her a cooling mat yesterday, but the convenient Petco branch didn't have them and I don't really want to buy one online. Since they're made for dogs, I want to make sure that the Hairy Beasts can't immediately puncture the thing and get water all over everywhere.
I guess today is the Great Desk Shuffle Day; we're trying to provide actual workspace for everybody, instead of having somebody stuck at a drafting table in the middle of the office traffic pattern. Which somehow involves having nearly every desk in the suite ending up in somebody else's office. File under Smile and nod and try not to get run over by errant office furniture.
Hm. I guess the tromping around four hospitals is going to happen tomorrow. I can live with that, especially if it's not going to be nearly 90 degrees tomorrow. (I hope we get the hinted-at thunderstorm tonight. I love thunderstorms.)
My birthday (July 10) falls on a Saturday this year, and it's my 35th birthday besides, so I'm inclined to do something about it. So far I want to go out for breakfast and then go ride the swan boats in the Public Garden, and I haven't planned anything more than that yet. But I've got time.
I know that if it were fun, they wouldn't call it work, but why is it against the law for work to ever be any fun these days?
