why beer is good
Sep. 9th, 2010 03:54 pmMy work day so far, starting at 8:35:
- Fix SOP packet in dire straits and make 35 copies thereof.
- Unjam copier three times and add paper twice.
- Teach coworker how to create search review meeting packets.
- Get kicked off computer for an hour or so due to upgrade to Office 2010.
- While kicked off computer, read junior promotions training case for Monday.
- Track down three of the seven training cases I should have and don't.
- Swear at Outlook 2010, which is utterly crammed with unnecessary options.
- Figure out how to deactivate three or four of the most unnecessary options.
- Remove, repair and replace junior promotions Longer Service files on HMS intranet.
- White out six things on each of 19 copies of Longer Service packets.
- Meet with Assistant Dean regarding junior promotions emails.
- Send junior promotions emails while swearing at Outlook 2010 and eating lunch.
- Write email for follow-up on training case from three weeks ago and send for review.
- Collate Longer Service packets, agenda and criteria, and stuff in envelopes.
- Rewrite email for follow-up on training case.
- Ask coworker to order more paper.
- Make list of things not to forget, including copies of training cases and emails for meeting tomorrow.
- Deliver Longer Service materials, including getting sent to the wrong office twice.
I was at work last night until 6:00. The run of "short weeks are worse than regular weeks" continues.
