Monday, again

Saturday: overslept, and then went out to run errands. Finally put my important documents back in the safe deposit box where they belong, and then picked up a prescription and bought bus tickets for Thanksgiving. (Which, because you can't buy tickets for that particular trip online, required a trip to South Station. But that enabled a ramble through Chinatown, and it was a nice day.)

Sunday: spent way too much time sitting in front of the computer, letting the brain rot and providing an arm for Snip to alternately wash and use as a chin rest. I wasn't even doing anything useful on the computer. I could have been working on the writing project I haven't touched since last winter, which has started to shout at me again, but I didn't. I spent most of the evening looking through the Gallery of Regrettable Tattoos (and feeling slightly smug about not having regrettable tattoos myself).

This week I hope I can get home by 7:30 tonight (fellowship celebration 4:00 - 6:00, plus cleanup afterward) and tomorrow (meeting 5:00 - 6:30). Rumor has it we're closing early on Wednesday, but even if we aren't, I think I'm leaving early anyway. I could take the Thursday morning bus, but I'd really rather take the Wednesday afternoon one. It will be mildly pathetic if I get into time-and-a-half overtime on a three-day week.

I think I see another thoroughly uninspired Christmas shopping season coming.

Right there with ya on the uninspired holiday shopping. I've been fairly uninspired by it for a good couple years. For a while I'd make a token effort but it felt so forced and unpleasant. So now I've given up. I'm only doing what I absolutely have to for holiday shopping. Period.

Last year I just gave money to Heifer International in various people's names. I think I might do that again.
