dchenesI am having a "technology hates me" day, which is making me stubborn and grumpy. The copier is jamming every 10 pages or so and the technician isn't returning phone calls.
Since we're not doing things on paper so much these days, I deal with a cubic blortload of PDFs. My computer has decided that Adobe can't read any PDF originally created in Times New Roman (or whatever font Nature uses), so it substitutes Arial, and most of the time the formatting goes to hell. There seems to be no answer to this problem.
The fact that Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry is not the same thing as Psychiatry is fine. The fact that nobody except our office ever pays any attention to which one is meant is not fine. I am sick of writing "Psychology in the Department of" in places where it doesn't physically fit.
Tomorrow we have a "new promotions administrator" training session, at which I have to do a lot of talking. It's a good thing I'm not doing this today. All I'm doing today is setting up a zillion binders full of Useful Stuff Nobody Will Ever Actually Read.
On the good side of the ledger, Lily has decided that the ten minutes in the morning between the alarm going off and the radio coming on belong to her, and she uses them to jump up on the bed and purr in my ear and be a Faithful Catpanion. (Meanwhile Snip is generally using my ankle as a bolster, and deciding she's Not Up Yet.)
And even if it is solid overcast since yesterday and gonna rain until Sunday, it's warming up out there. Granted it isn't April yet, but I have hopes that it might be spring sometime in April instead of sometime in May.
And, tomorrow is Friday, which means it's the end of the second of three Work Weeks of Epic Proportions in a row. Fortunately next week's Epic Proportions mostly consist of the Longer Service meeting, and that's over by lunchtime on Tuesday. I'm about ready for a vacation. Six more weeks...
