dchenesTomorrow is July. Tomorrow is also Friday, which can't come soon enough to suit me. I've been so up to my ears in various stuff at work that I forgot this is a long weekend. (There is no week so full that you can't shove another huge meeting, luncheon, sudden end-of-year archiving task, etc. into it.) However, this week was the last P&R meeting until September, so we have a little breathing space.
I don't know that this is necessarily the best weather for hot and sour soup, but that was what I seemed to want for lunch. I wish I knew what I wanted for lunch next week.
Speaking of food, I've discovered a lemon shortbread recipe. Basically you make a crust for lemon bars and put powdered lemon peel in it. Good stuff, especially if you then put actual lemon bars on top of it. I'm debating whether the next experiment should be lemon mint bars or lemon rosemary shortbread. Either way, I'll have to buy some more ingredients first. (I will say that peeling the box off the solid lump of sugar and then putting the lump in two layers of plastic bag and going at it with a hammer was fun. And I didn't even get sugar everywhere.)
It really should be time to go home, since today has been slightly more insane than usual for the last two weeks. However, it ain't time to go home yet, so I think it might be time for M&Ms instead.
