Sep. 9th, 2003 03:23 pmToday was errand day, once I finally got going. I called the bank in Boston, and then went out to drop off my immunization records at the health center and do the banking I needed to do. Since I needed my Ohio bank account number and didn't have it on me, and since the ATM in the student center won't take deposits today, I went and bought an appointment book (I am now the slave to a paper oracle), and then went home and wrote down the account number and set off for the main branch of the bank. Got the deposit deposited and then decided a little exploring was in order, so I wandered up and down Water Street and found the courthouse, a used bookstore with a cat asleep in the window (the store was closed or I would have gone in), and a butcher shop. I'm having pork chops for dinner.
It's hot and humid here today. Right around Labor Day it was cool enough to make me want long sleeves and closed shoes, and I was sad that summer had come to such an abrupt end. I guess it hasn't really ended yet.
For all the complaining I do about my classes, I usually come out of them thinking "Yeah, right, I can do this, it's not THAT hard." I suppose part of it is the fact that every class has a definite, and finite, number of things I have to do before I have that class again in a week. I'm no longer being blindsided by whatever my boss has thought up and wants yesterday. There's a schedule, and all I have to do is follow it. I can do that.
I wish my credit card bill would hurry up and get here so I can have the heart attack I know it's going to give me, and get it over with.
Some day I will learn to eat ripe clingstone peaches over the sink, while wearing a shirt I don't care about getting fruit stains on.
