My external hard drive has apparently become corrupted, since the only way the laptop recognizes it is through the Disk Repair utility. The utility says there's nothing wrong, but the rest of the laptop won't admit the drive is connected (when it's connected). Fortunately the only thing on the external drive was backups. It's too old to be under warranty and too young to have problems. GRRR.
I sent a bunch of reminders to people about cases I'd read and suggested fixes for and hadn't heard back about yet. The only reply I got was one that said "I already sent you this in September" (she had, so GRRR at myself), and the reason I hadn't remembered it was because it was a half-assed effort at answering my question. Half an ass is better than nothing, so I read the rest of the file, which has several serious problems (GRR at the department, which should know better than to send us files with those problems).
Having gone to the dentist yesterday, I now have a periodontist appointment in December, because there's too much gum behind the last molar on the bottom right side. The dentist wants it looked at and potentially surgically removed. GRRR.
I was going to sneak off for a couple of weeks at the end of January and go somewhere interesting. Unfortunately I had to plan out the meeting logistics for the rest of the year this week, and there is no good time between now and the end of June for me not to be at work for two weeks. And there are three or four really ugly days coming, besides. GRRR.
At least tomorrow is Friday, and the Hairy Beasts were being insanely cute this morning. They were playing Calvinball with an empty laundry basket and their green fuzzy mouse toy.
