Me, in a nutshell, right now
Sep. 11th, 2003 05:52 pmI knew I carried a blank book around for a reason. This is what I wrote while I sat in the plaza between the student center and the library.
Coffee. I'm drinking coffee for the first time since life settled into a semblance of order. Granted it's decaf, but it's a flavor I find I missed.
Today, 9/11/03, is gorgeous. Blue, cloudless, cool in the shade, warm in the sun. The fountain cools the breeze and blows mist across the plaza, and I sit drinking my coffee and watching the world go by.
There are chalked messages everywhere urging me to "go Greek". Even if I wanted to, they wouldn't want me.
I think tonight calls for an omelet for dinner. Mushroom and cheese, and maybe tomato. Or broccoli. And broccoli. We'll see.
Mohawk, baggy shorts and purple Converse, male. Cornrows and ponytail, white, female. Nothing I haven't seen before, nothing as wild as Oberlin.
Tomorrow I must shower, do laundry and do research. Translation research, not research research.
I still want somebody to curl up with. Maybe I would sleep the way I used to.

Date: 2003-09-12 01:19 pm (UTC)It struck me while I was walking home last night that it was a rather strange thing to be able to say "Damn it, I've written this letter before, what's the word I want?"
