This week hasn't been quite as long as the last two weeks, but I still sort of feel like I dragged myself through it by the scruff. I think I might have to have an office policy discussion with somebody sometime soon, because lately the "one junior promotions person in the office at all times" thing means that it's me in the office at all times. I'm the only one of the three of us with a M-F 9-5 schedule. I hope things calm down after August, because that's when my partner in crime will be done with his paternity leave. These days if he's not at his own medical appointments, he's at his wife's, and he's never here on Wednesdays before 3:00 anyway. (It seems I am slightly grumpy about this.)

I'm also slightly grumpy at the Brighton post office, which seems to have lost a package I was supposed to get on Tuesday. The tracking web site said "refer to Post Office notice", but I never got a notice. So this morning I went down to the post office and asked if they had my package somewhere, since I didn't get a notice. They don't have the package, or any evidence that they left me a notice. GRRR. I can't imagine anybody would want to steal a package from sheetmusicplus.com, so where the blazes is it?

On a more cheerful note, the weather is so nice that I think I'm going to take my book outdoors for an hour sometime soon. The trick is going to be talking myself into coming indoors again afterward. I like the big bright thing in the sky! So do the Hairy Beasts. I'm convinced they run on solar power, and their solar cells get depleted after it rains for about three days and the HBs get lethargic and grumpy. When the sun comes out again, they park themselves in their favorite sunspots for most of a day and recharge, and then life is lovely.

Also lovely: the deconstruction of sidewalk/construction of parking spaces behind BWH, which meant that we had to keep the windows shut or go deaf, is over. There's fresh air in this end of the office again. Windows that don't open are better than no windows at all, but we happen to have windows that open, and I appreciate them.
