Still sick. More sick, actually, since yesterday my head started filling with glue after four days of (merely) a very sore throat. But today I had a meeting I couldn't miss, so here I am at work with a head full of glue and a moderately sore throat. I suppose it's good that it's not Niagara of the Nose, but the fact that my left ear is 75% plugged up is really annoying me. I keep waiting for it to go CRACK! and clear out. At least it doesn't hurt; it just feels like somebody stuffed a sock in behind my eardrum. (Not that I'm going to try it, but I wonder if putting an earbud in that ear and playing something with the bass cranked up would help.)

(A couple of hours later)

OK, now it's Niagara of the Nose, and I have a new definition of hell. 1.5 hour meeting, Niagara of the Nose, and only one Kleenex. *PHWOONK*

I appreciate the offer, but I don't think I can stand any more soup! I made a large pot of soup when I started with the sore throat, and have been working my way through it.

Mostly what I want is a guarantee that the cough I started in with last night will go away sometime before next week. I'd like to get some decent sleep one of these nights.

Sorry to say that no, the cough on this one is going to last for more than a week. I'd strongly suggest that you contact your doctor for some codeine. It's the only thing that has worked to allow me to sleep.

Unfortunately codeine doesn't make me sleep, it only makes me loopy. I'm sure that's amusing to watch, though.

Oh that's rotten. You have my sympathies.
Since soup isn't appealing, if you'd like I can drop by a serving or two of the chicken and sausage gumbo I made the other night. If you're souped out then perhaps something spicy can help the cold!

I don't know what spicy food would do, considering the fact that I can't taste much of anything. I suppose the roast beef and horseradish sandwich I just ate must have had horseradish in it, but I couldn't tell.
