Why is it, I wonder, that the French word for "Christian" is chrétien, but the word for "Christianity" is Christianisme?

I wouldn't care about this if I wasn't writing this paper about exoticism, one of the facets of which is a criticism of 18th-century France. I keep having to remind myself that the inconsistent spelling is correct. Speaking of spelling, for some reason MS Word isn't having fits because I'm not typing English. Even when I am, it doesn't have fits about names, which it normally can't spell. I'm not complaining, mind you.

Bloody telemarketers! mutter mutter grumble snarl...

All right, back to getting useful writing done.

Say more about "exoticism"?

For Word, search Help for "multilingual documents"

I sent you e-mail about it since it was taking a while to explain.

Hmm... have you looked into whether or not your version of MS Word can be patched or updated to a French localized version?
