Oct. 25th, 2013 02:06 pmFriday! And a very chilly one at that. I think I might have to hunt up some gloves at some point (although at least now I know where they are, since I cleaned out the gloves/scarves/random clothing items drawer last spring). I suppose I shouldn't complain, because 45 isn't even all that cold. It's just that I'm not used to it yet.
Tonight I have to run around to grocery stores, because I said I would bring salad to the My, How You've Grown Festival tomorrow and I don't have enough salad fixings at home for more than about two people. And I'm out of Cheerios, which is a state of affairs that can't be allowed to continue. The question is, can you get radishes and Cheerios in the same grocery store at this time of year? I suppose I can skip the radishes and nobody will notice, but I'll be mildly disappointed.
Speaking of salad, I've got to start planning better with regards to lunch. The cafeteria is reading my mind and providing exactly what I don't want, and it's expensive (one way or the other) besides. I've hit my limit for beet sandwiches after the second one this week, and after they got through those they started in with lentil wraps. I have nothing against lentils, except that whatever you do to them, they still taste like lentils and it's a taste I'm not fond of. The cafeteria's salads lately either have raw red onions or canned tuna in them, and I like my coworkers enough to not want to breathe onions or tuna at them all afternoon. I think it's time to start bringing my own lunch again.
On a cheerier note, I finally figured out where in my kitchen to keep bread. I've been having feline problems with keeping it on the table (it seems Lily likes to kill it) and if I keep it in the fridge, it dries out. And I don't like actively cold bread anyway. However, I finally figured out that if I keep it on top of the box of cat food cans, Lily can't go after it. Score one for the human side!
