This morning I had an appointment with a surgeon about my gall bladder. I was expecting him to say that if it had quit bothering me, it could stay where it was, but that isn't what he said and now I have an appointment for surgery on December 17. What he actually said was now that we know I've got gallstones, there's a 30-40% chance per year of them giving me more problems, so he recommends that we get rid of them entirely. I'm all for not spending any more time laid out on the bathroom floor and whimpering, but as I've never had surgery before, I have to admit I'm a little bit scared.

However, I seem to be busy enough at work to keep myself from sitting here going EEP! until December 17. I've got a couple of major projects and several minor projects going on at the moment. The big one is a CE course we want to put on in April, which requires all sorts of documentation and planning and committee meetings and advertising and so forth. The CE committee is supposed to get this stuff before Thanksgiving, which is fine with me because once they've got it, all I have to do is respond to them. There are bits of the application that I either don't have or don't apply to this course, but I'm not sure if they want the whole thing with "N/A" written all over it, or if I can just leave out the attachments that we won't need. I guess I'll find out.

13 more pounds and I'll be done with the weight-loss phase. Snip weighs 13 pounds, so all I have to do is lose one Snip. Too bad there's already a unit of weight close to that (one stone: 14 lb), or I'd see if I could get the Snip adopted as a unit of weight the way a Smoot is a unit of length.
