Yesterday was lovely, because the wind was blowing hard enough to keep the humid air from being oppressive. Today, not so much wind. Science says humid air is actually less dense than dry air, but I have an extremely hard time believing that, given humid air that basically dares me to move through it.

Having been out for lunch, I take back the observation about less wind. Today is lovely too, and also less humid. Lily will be happy about that, because this morning the air wasn't moving and she was miserable. She's just got too many hairs per square inch. Regardless, my observation about science stands.

I parked Leo the Late Bloomer under my open bedroom window two weeks ago, and all the leaves on one of his two stalks seem to be shriveling up and drying out. They're not turning brown, but they're also not responding to water. Maybe he just can't support two stalks. The other one (which is the original and taller one) seems to be happy. I hope good intentions and semi-regular watering count for something. At least I haven't completely killed him yet.

I'm having a small problem with a lot of my summer shirts, to wit: they mostly don't fit like they used to, on account of my being a different shape these days. The chest size is still about right, since I still have a DD rack, but the rest of the fit is more flour sack than shirt. I am not going to run out and spend a zillion dollars on clothes again, especially since I'm getting a sewing machine for my birthday and some of the shirts just need taking in a bit. Given mentorship and a sewing machine, I should be able to do that myself. (I think.)

Memo to self: make lemon goop on Saturday, for Sunday. And figure out what's in the freezer, and start using it.
