I woke up this morning with a suspicious feeling in my sinuses. I'm afraid an Insidious Grue has caught me. I just hope it's not the same one my coworker has had since mid-September. She was out for a week and a half, back at work and miserable, out again for three days, back again and only slightly less miserable, out again, etc. She's still coughing and it's November tomorrow. Ugh.

In happier news, the cat-and-needle embroidery is absolutely gorgeous now that it's been framed. And it's also light enough that I should be able to hang it somewhere, instead of leaning it up against the wall. I'm hanging it in the On My Own Time exhibit at work next month, for sure, and then I'll see about hanging it at home. Maybe over the bookshelf in the bedroom.

I'm also putting the geisha in the On My Own Time exhibit, and I think I might see about selling her. Her frame is too heavy to hang (mutter grumble plaster walls mutter mutter) and she deserves better than sitting on the floor in my office. The only problem is, I'd have to find somebody willing to give me $650. Fairly highly unlikely, I think. (Especially based on Etsy, which is selling things I could stitch in three hours for $40 and things like the geisha, which took me a year, for $200.) Oh well. At least embroidery doesn't eat much, so if I can't sell her, it won't be the end of the world. Maybe I should buy a display stand and prop her up somewhere instead of trying to hang her. Of course, that means I'd have to keep a horizontal surface in front of her from either getting cluttered up with Stuff or becoming a feline highway. Or I'd have to invest in a dedicated horizontal surface. I almost wish the fireplace mantel didn't have a built-in mirror.
